Edmonton - "Industry, Integrity, and Progress"

Edmonton is the capital of the Canadian province of Alberta. Edmonton is on the North Saskatchewan River and is the center of the Edmonton Capital Region, which is surrounded by Alberta's central region.

Edmonton has a population of 877,926 as of 2014.  Their flag was adopted on December 12, 1966, and the coat of arms on October 28, 1994.  Edmonton's area is 684.4 km².

Edmonton's NHL hockey team is the Edmonton Oilers.  The Edmonton Oilers were founded on November 1, 1971.

 

 

Calgary - "Onward"

 

The population of Calgary is 1,195,194 as of 2014.  Calgary's flag was adopted on 1983, as a result of a contest.  Calgary's coat of arms was adopted on 1902, in black and white but later in 1984, it was made with colour.  Calgary's area is 825.3 km².

 

 

Calgary's NHL hockey team is the Calgary Flames.  The teams was founded in 1972.  They won the Stanley Cup in 1989.

The Calgary Stampede is another of Calgary's magnificent attractions.  It takes place every year sometime in the month of July.  This year it is taking place on July 3-12, 2015.

Grande Prairie - "Resourceful Spirit, Growing Opportunity"

 

As of the 2011 census, there were 55,032 living in Grande Prairie.

 

Grande Prairie is a city in northwest Alberta, Canada within the southern portion of an area known as Peace River Country. It is located at the intersection of Highway 43 and Highway 40, approximately 456 km northwest of Edmonton.  Grande Prairie's area is 72.8 km².

Fort McMurray, once named McMurray, is an urban service area in the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo in Alberta, Canada.  Fort McMurry's population is 116,407 as of 2014.

Royal Tyrrell Museum

The Royal Tyrrell Museum is a Canadian tourist attraction and a centre of palaeontological research noted for its collection of more than 130,000 fossils.  The museum is situated in the middle of the fossil-bearing strata of the Late Cretaceous Horseshoe Canyon Formation and holds numerous specimens from the Alberta badlands, Dinasaur Provincial Park and the Devil's Coulee Dinosaur Egg Site.

Athabasca Falls

Athabasca Falls is a waterfall in Jasper National Park on the upper Athabasca River.  The powerful waterfall, Athabasca Falls, is not known so much for the height of the falls as it is known for its force due to the large quantity of water falling into the gorge. Even on a cold morning in the fall, when river levels tend to be at their lowest, copious amounts of water flow over the falls.  It is a Class 5 waterfall, with a drop of 80 ft (24 m) and a width of 60 ft (18 m).
